2021 COE cup of excellence 的想法

觀察了一下 2021 COE

1. 強勢莊園

雖然絕對分數最高的是 El Salvador Mileydi 的 91.68（by Ever Leonel Diaz Perez）

但是normalize以各自國家分數為表準）之後，Mexico 的 Finca Santa Cruz，和 Brazil 的 Dbarbosa Coffee – Fazenda Cachoeira 這兩個農場才是最強勢的．尤其是Finca Santa Cruz，這家莊園 2021, 2019 兩年的都破3，實在很想嘗試看看．

（2019 - 2021 破3的也只有三個批次，除了Finca Santa Cruz 之外，只有 Honduras 的 Santa Lucia） 

2. 品種

2.1 bourbon aji

在COE 看到奇妙的品種，”bourbon aji” (圖)，思索aji 是什麼意思？

發現是西語的”辣椒”，嗯，“辣椒波旁“   感覺可以想像它的味道。

然後在 onyx 發現這段紀錄：“The case of the mysterious Bourbon Aji was opened after Jose Salazar, a prodigious producer from Huila, Colombia, entered a coffee into the Cup of Excellence. Jose named this variety due to the spicy, red pepper like aroma coming from the fresh cherries right as they were picked. The cup profile is striking - it’s both delicately floral and intently citric. “

農人用自己的感官為新發現的奇怪品種命名，有意思。

接著品種分析公司 RD2 Vision 發現這是一支之前不知道的衣索比亞品種。衣索比亞真的是寶庫。

2.2 Catiguá MG1, MG2 e MG3

Brazil 看到一些沒有看過的品種，其中 Catiguá MG1, MG2 e MG3 是 Híbrido de Timor 一路培育到F5, F6 出來的品種，Catiguá 和培育地點有關聯

『The progenies of plants H 514-7-14-2 and H 514-7-16-3, in F4 generation, were planted in EPAMIG de Patrocínio, giving rise to the Catiguá MG1 and Catiguá MG2 cultivars, in F5 generation. 

A mixture of H 514-11-5-5 progeny seeds was multiplied at the São Sebastião do Paraíso Experimental Farm, with the designation of H 514-11-5-5-1, in the F4 generation. In this field, 20 plants were selected that constituted the progeny H 514-11-5-5-1, which originated the Catiguá MG3 cultivar, in the F6 generation. 

The name Catiguá refers to the original name of the city of Patrocínio, MG, where part of the selection process of this cultivar took place.』REF

2.3 Bernardina

Bernardina 又出現了（謝謝K的提醒）

之前寫過這支 新品種：Bernardina var. ；and Modern Genomics tools in coffee world

很喜歡．

3. Ecuador & Indonesia

Ecuador，2021 COE 新的出現的參與區域（這樣形容不知道對不對？）

這裡贏家大多是 Typica Mejorado 和 Sydra 

之前也寫過它們 訊息 updating:: Arusha, K7, Typica Mejorado, Sidra, Aaron 和 貓先生

突然很在意 Sydra / Sidra 這個在台灣被人翻譯成西爪的字到底是什麼意思

查了字源，好像跟回教的『天堂之門，神樹』之類的概念有關。 有趣

然後發現這棵神樹  سِدْرَة ٱلْمُنْتَهَىٰ Sidrat al-Muntahā, 'Lote Tree of the Farthest Boundary

是 猴猴爸（Jujube）棗樹的樣子

4. Indonesia

2021 有兩個新參與COE的國家，Ecuador 和 Indonesia

不過這次我更感興趣的是 Indonesia

回頭看他們的歷史，Indonesia 的咖啡文化有許多可以挖掘的．（之前有一篇為什麼我期待印尼COE草稿，可惜ㄧ忙起來就放著了）

不過看看這些品種，

Ateng, Gayo 1, P88 Sigararutang, Andungsari, Abyssinia, P88, S-795, Cobra

有空來挖掘一下好了．

5. geisha / gesha & Ethiopia

geisha 依然強勢，全部第一名中 5/11 是 Geisha 接近一半．而全前三中，13/33 為 geisha 超過 1/3．

不過更有趣的是，gesha 原生國 Ethiopia 的30位 贏家中，只有一個是 gesha種，而 24/30（八成）則是種植 JARC 出來的 74 系列．

另外 Ethiopia 是唯一有贏家使用 Anaerobic 取的最高分的國家．可喜可賀，可喜可賀．
